She has ten awarded and one pending patent, eight book chapters, and over 200 journal and conference publications. Her current research interests include novel flexible sensors and noise / reliability in electron devices. She serves as a topical editor for IEEE Transactions for Electron Devices, IEEE Sensors Journal, and Elsevier Sensors and Actuators A. She is a Fellow of IEEE.

Biography

Dr. Tao Li joined the Department of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science (EECS) at the University of Cincinnati as an Associate Professor in 2018. Previously he was a research faculty member (Associate Research Scientist) and Adjunct Assistant Professor in the EECS Department and the Center for Wireless Integrated MicroSensing and Systems (WIMS2) at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Precision Instruments from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Dr. Tao Li's research interests include micromachined sensors and actuators, nontraditional microfabrication technologies, microsystem packaging and integration, and sensor electronic interfaces and embedded systems. He has over 16 years of experience working in the fields of micromachined transducers and microsystems, particularly for biomedical and environmental monitoring applications.

Biography

Ravinder Dahiya is Professor of Electronics and Nanoengineering and Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) Fellow in the School of Engineering at University of Glasgow. He is the Director of Electronic Systems Design Centre (ESDC) and the leader of Bendable Electronics and Sensing Technologies (BEST) group. His group conducts fundamental research on high-mobility materials based flexible electronics and electronic skin, and their application in robotics, prosthetics and wearable systems.

Prof. Dahiya has published more than 270 research articles, 4 books (3 at various publication stages), and 12 patents (including 7 submitted). He has given more than 120 invited/plenary talks. He has led many international projects (> £25M) funded by European Commission, EPSRC, The Royal Society, The Royal Academy of Engineering, and The Scottish Funding Council.

He is a Distinguished Lecturer of IEEE Sensors Council and is on the Editorial Boards of Scientific Reports (Nature Group), and IEEE Sensors Journal. He is also the editor of Cambridge Elements on Flexible and Large Area Electronics. He was the Technical Program Co-Chair (TPC) for IEEE Sensors Conference in 2017 and 2018. Recently, he initiated the new IEEE International Conference on the topic of Flexible and Printable Sensors and Systems (IEEE FLEPS). He is general chair of IEEE FLEPS 2019 and IEEE ICECS 2019.

Prof. Dahiya holds EPSRC Fellowship and in past he received Marie Curie Fellowship and Japanese Monbusho Fellowship. He has received several awards and most recent among them are: 2018 Elektra award for best university research in the UK, 2016 IEEE Sensor Council Technical Achievement Award, the 2016 Microelectronic Engineering Young Investigator Award (Elsevier) and 2016 Scottish 40UNDER40. He has received 5 best paper awards in IEEE international conferences.

Dr. Saida MAAROUFI is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Mobile Computing and Networking Research Laboratory (LARIM), École Polytechnique de Montréal. She is the Vice-Chair of IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) Montreal Section and the IEEE Canada WIE East Area Chair. She received her Ph.D. degree in computer engineering from École Polytechnique de Montréal in 2016 and her master’s degree from the Institut National des Postes et Télécommunications affiliated with the University of Mohamed V in 2007.

She has received numerous awards in recognition of her leadership and academic performance, among which the prestigious 2016 IEEE Canada Women in Engineering Prize sponsored by the Judy Clift Fund and the NSERC-DIVA First and Best Poster Award. Dr. Maaroufi is engaged in many professional activities: she is the founder and the co-chair of four international IEEE Workshops, she is on the technical program committee of several IEEE/ACM conferences and she also serves as a reviewer for several international journals.

She is a judge at Youth Science Canada, a Moodle manager at ISTEAH, a technical consultant of the IEEE SIGHT and an active member of the following organizations: ACM N2 Women research community, IEEE TISP program and GRAHN-Monde.

Her research interests span several areas of wireless and mobile computing including distributed computing, interworking architecture design and context-aware ubiquitous computing.

Hamida HALLIL is an associate professor in electrical engineering at Bordeaux University and affiliated at Integration: from Material to Systems (IMS) laboratory (CNRS, UMR 5218). Her current research interests include the design of innovating devices and sensors using electromagnetic and acoustic transduction modes. Since September 2018, she is assigned at CNRS International -NTU-Thales Research Alliance (CINTRA) in Singapore and work on the development of 2D based acoustic devices and microwave sensors. She is Fellow of the French National council of universities since 2015 and Deputy Chairperson, IEEE Sensors Council Chapter France Section since 2018. In addition, she is a volunteer in committee of IEEE Sensors Council YP Social Media, and Women in Sensors.

Sharmistha Bhadra received the B.Sc. degree in computer engineering from the University of New Brunswick, Fredericton, NB, Canada, in and the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, MB, Canada. From 2015 to 2016 she was an NSERC postdoctoral fellow at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, BC, Canada. She joined McGill University in 2016 and is currently an assistant professor. She has published 32 papers and holds 2 patents in sensor area. Her current research interest are in the area of printed and ﬂexible hybrid electronics, microelectronics, microelectromechanical systems, and sensors and actuators.
